Hello, listeners! Episode 3 is our first fantasy-adjacent mini-sode (that didn’t actually turn out so “mini”) in which we discuss Ship It by Britta Lundin. This conversation got pretty meta since we dove headlong into discussions of fandom, capitalism’s co-opting of diverse voices, and shipping (#obvi). We laughed, we cried, and we definitely adored this book.
As always, we’d love to be in discussion with you, magical listener. Post or tweet about the show using #criticallyreading. JK, It’s Magic is recorded on Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe land.

This is really smart and the two of you talk so well. I keep making notes about ideas that resonated. The comment on the slave depictions in game of thrones. The whole world of fandom, which is new to me. Forty little notes, i took. But really it’s the unabashed love of books that moves me. I wanted to write something smarter here in the comment box, but the level of your paired intelligence and joy overwhelmed me. Thanks for doing this.
